What are the requirements for workpiece surface before PVD coating equipment processing?

During the processing of PVD coating equipment, our company attaches great importance to the preliminary treatment process, because the use of residue free cleaning process is crucial to the mechanical bonding between the coating process and PVD coating equipment.

However, there are requirements for workpiece surface limitation of PVD coating equipment:

1、 The workpiece surface shall not be subject to other surface modification treatment, such as electroplating, nitriding, carburizing, phosphating, oxidation blackening, TD or CVD.

2、 The workpiece surface shall be free of rust, paint, glue, etc.

3、 The combined mold or inlaid mold that can be disassembled must be completely disassembled into separate parts for cleaning.

4、 The surface of workpiece with welding shall be thoroughly cleaned, and there shall be no oxide layer or embedded hole.

Generally, the smoother the workpiece or tool is, the better on the premise that it meets the use requirements. For mirror molds, etched molds, etc., the product requirements can prevail (customers can handle it by themselves).

Only when the workpieces of PVD coating equipment meet the above conditions can the processing requirements of PVD coating equipment be better guaranteed, so that the adhesion of PVD coating equipment is better and more durable.
